What is an animation cel?

Animation cel or celluloid is a traditional technic that were used in the animation industry between 1930 and 1990. For each frame, the animator had to retrace the sketch of the character with ink on one side, then add color on the other side of the sheet. Then, the cel was placed over a static background and photographed in sequence.Many movies used this technic including ‘’The little mermaid’’, ‘’Bambi’’, ‘’robin hood’’ and more!

ORDERING

  • Prices are in USD

  • Art style may vary from the examples provided. If you want a specific style from me, please let me know beforehand.

  • Adding an extra character is the same price, so x2

  • I have the right to decline a commission.

  • If you don't tell me a pose or expression you'd like, I will go with artistic freedom.

  • Keep in mind that I have a full time job and I only draw in my free time.

  • I can't specifically tell you a turnaround time, but it usually goes from 1 to 4 months. (Commissioners can always see the progress of their commission on my Trello)

COPYRIGHT

  • As the artist, I have ALL the rights to every piece of art I create, either digitally or printed.

  • Commissioners don't have the right to use the commissioned piece(s) or any of my art for profitable reasons, like selling for a profit without my permission. (If you would like piece for commercial use, let me know and I will give you a quote)

  • Commissioners will only receive a digital copy, I don't do shipping in any way.

  • If they desire, Commissioners have the right to print their commission for their personal use ONLY !

PAYMENTS

  • I accept payment ONLY via Paypal.

  • Payment must be paid withing 24h, otherwise I'll pass to another customer.

  • Payment must be fully paid before I start working on your commission.

REFOUNDS

  • A full refund is only in order if I didn't start working on the commission.

  • There won't be any refunds if the commission is completed.

  • If I already started the piece, the amout of time spent on the commission will determind the refound amount that will be given to the commissioner.

EXTRAS AND MODIFICATIONS

  • A sketch will be send for approval (exept if a sketch or sketch page is ordered)

  • All my prices are a base price, they can vary depending on your character complexity and by adding props or detailed outfits to the piece.

  • If the commissioner wants to change something after the lineart is started, extra will be chargerd.

  • If the reference is bad quality or not clear, I might not draw the character correcly. I am not responssible of those possible changes.

  • If your character is extremely dark or an extremely bright color, I have the right to slightly change the colors.
